Tazz grew orders by declaring the kitchen is yours — only when you want it
Instead of discounts, Romania's Tazz ran a manifesto against kitchen guilt; GMV rose 29% YoY, new users 51%, direct traffic 106% — an Effie Europe Bronze.

The solution
Romania's food-delivery market was declining and Tazz needed to reverse it. The conventional fix would have been aggressive promotions, but the deeper problem was emotional: ordering food felt like admitting failure at a role — cooking for the people you love — that society still assigns unevenly.
Jam Session Agency's campaign 'Locul tău e în bucătărie când vrei tu să fie' ('Your place is in the kitchen only when you want it to be') used a musical manifesto by Delia and Adrian Despot, starring chef Sorin Bontea. It said plainly that it is fine to have no energy to cook, and that ordering in is a healthy choice rather than a shameful one.
The message was carried by culture rather than by discounting, and it worked: Tazz set a historical GMV record with +29% year-on-year growth, gained +51% new users, lifted direct traffic +106%, and converted 49% better than benchmark.
The campaign earned an Effie Europe Bronze in 2023, establishing Tazz as the delivery brand that stood for freeing people from kitchen duty rather than selling meals.
Why it worked
- It removed the guilt barrier, which discounts could never touch.
- Cultural figures (musicians, a chef) gave the message legitimacy and reach.
- The values position differentiated Tazz in a category competing on price.
- Direct traffic growth showed the message built brand demand, not just offer response.
What can be applied
When category demand shrinks, look for the invisible emotional tax that stops people buying, not just price. A values message that relieves that tax can move volume more durably than a discount.
Aftermath
Tazz's manifesto became a Romanian reference case for values-driven effectiveness in a commoditized delivery market, recognized with an Effie Europe Bronze for positive change. The insight that ordering food is an act of care, not failure, stayed at the center of the brand's later communications as it continued expanding across the country.
