The solution
Capital Bank needed to promote its loan portfolio in Jordan without sounding like another rate ad. The useful clue was already in people's wallets: handwritten wishes on banknotes for houses, cars and personal milestones.
The campaign collected the cultural practice into three common wish themes, then connected each to a relevant financing product. The clever move was not new media buying; it was treating circulating cash as a living brief.
Dubai Lynx reported 11% more loan inquiries to the call center, 23% higher website traffic and 17% higher loan-specific traffic on capitalbank.jo. The work won Bronze in Dubai Lynx Print & Publishing.
What it achieved
Turn wished-on banknotes into loan prompts
Why it worked
It translated a financial product into a familiar local behavior instead of importing a generic bank campaign.
The banknote made the need visible: people were already writing down goals that loans could help unlock.
The execution kept the product close to the insight, with housing, personal and car loans tied to actual wish themes.
What can be applied
When a category is low-emotion, borrow a real customer ritual and let the product become the next step in that ritual.
Aftermath
The idea traveled beyond Dubai Lynx: Cannes Lions' public post described Notes on Notes as a 2025 Silver Lion and Dubai Lynx Bronze winner. More importantly for the bank, the campaign moved measurable loan-interest behaviors, not just awareness.
