du proved its 5G live on TikTok for 30+ hours and set a Guinness record

Every telco claims great coverage, and reliability is invisible until it fails. du had invested heavily in 5G since its launch — reaching 99% coverage of the UAE population — but as its chief commercial officer put it, 'Films are easy to make, and stories are easy to tell, but proving performance live is a whole other game.'

Agency TBWA\RAAD made proof the product. 'The Unstoppable Network' used a single smartphone — no backup devices, no fixed lines — passed between 12 creators on a two-day journey through all seven Emirates while livestreaming nonstop on TikTok LIVE, powered exclusively by du's 5G. The phone travelled from mangrove kayaking in Abu Dhabi and dune-bashing in Liwa to zip-lining over Ras Al Khaimah and a sunrise hot-air balloon ride above Dubai.

The stream never buffered, lagged or dropped across the record-setting relay — du's release describes a 48-hour uninterrupted stream, and LBB counts a 1,800-minute (30+ hour) run. Guinness World Records certified the broadcast as the longest promoted livestream, with thousands of viewers commenting in real time as the phone crossed the country.

The campaign was later recognised with Silver at the MENA Effie Awards 2025, plus a Silver in Big Branding Energy and a Gold in Community Core at the TikTok Ad Awards 2025 — proof that a public, verifiable demonstration outperformed any network slogan.
