Transvision provides long-distance transport for elderly and disabled Dutch citizens who cannot use regular public transport. Running tens of thousands of one-person trips a year was expensive and produced long wait times and much empty driving.

Working with analytics firms CQM and Geodan, Transvision built an advanced algorithm and simulation applications that pool individual trips into shared rides. It assigns riders to shared vehicles across the network, respecting pickup times and travel-time limits specific to each passenger's needs.

Passenger satisfaction rose about 50%, and since the solution began, 75 million driving kilometres have been saved — equal to roughly 7,500 tonnes of CO2 — reducing both cost and environmental impact.

后来呢

Transvision was named a 2024 Franz Edelman Award finalist. The company continued evolving the solution, and the underlying work was published in research on optimizing mobility for elderly and disabled Dutch citizens using taxis.
